Ray Weaver

March 24, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

$10

Ray Weaver is a writer. He has the rare ability to transform life into songs and stories that are intensely personal, yet still touch a universal chord.

“The writing talent here is really pretty formidable,” said Doug Floyd of altcountrytab.com. “The names of Steve Earle, Townes van Zandt and Guy Clark all spring to mind.”

Ray plays pubs, concerts and festivals across the United States and in Europe. His music has been used on the Travel Channel, the WB Network and featured on radio and internet stations worldwide.

Along with his musical endeavors, Ray works as a writer. He is a journalist for the Copenhagen Post in Copenhagen and his short stories have been published as part of the Rocking Chair Reader series created by Adams Media and in magazines and newspapers.

He has just released his first ebook, “A Father’s Heart”, which collects some his best-loved stories and songs in a multimedia package that includes links to stream or download nine songs that relate to the stories of family, life and love included in the collection.

From heartfelt recollections of Christmases past to rollicking days of hunting wild refrigerators, A Father’s Heart looks at parents, grandparents, wives, husbands and, of course, children with tenderness, humour and above all, love.

Ray’s performance at 49 West will be an intimate live performance of the ‘A Father’s Heart’ project.
