Our featured writer this month is Natalie Lobe. Her full length book of poetry, “What Gypsies Don’t Know”, was published in 2018. She has published three chapbooks: Conversation with Abraham(2012), Island Time (2008) and Connected Voices (2006).  Her poems have appeared in Slant, Jewish Currents, Comstock Review, California Quarterly, and many other journals. Natalie serves on the board of the Annapolis Arts Alliance, and has taught poetry at Anne Arundel Community College most recently in the fall of 2019. She has also taught poetry at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and at Bates Middle School’s special arts program in Annapolis. Natalie was also a “Poet in the Schools” for many years, teaching poetry in both public and private elementary schools in Maryland. She has been a judge for the Senior Year Arts Competition at St. John’s College and for “Poetry Out Loud,” a program of Anne Arundel County elementary schools. Natalie has a BA degree from Connecticut College and an MA from University of New Hampshire.

 

Open Read: Read 3 poems, or read for 5 minutes, whichever is briefer.

PARK FOR FREE in the Anne Arundel County employees’ garage at 19 St. John’s St. (GPS/Mapquest the address)

 

The garage is OPEN AND FREE on weekends. This garage is about a five-minute walk from the 49 West Coffehouse.

 

The garage is right across from the St. John’s College auditorium.  Turn on to St. John’s St. off of College Ave., OR come straight down Rowe Blvd. from Rt. 50, then turn left at the light at Calvert St., and then left on St. John St.
