DESCRIPTION:Thanks Come on down to 49west – Larry and i’ll be singing & playing and hanging out in one of our favorite local places.. there is all kinds of good stuff going there besides this music we’re promoting. amazing artwork\, food and drinks\, people. No cover\, just walk on in\, seat yourself. – we’re in the front room. \nJenn Byrne is the foundation of the group\, playing the upright bass\, and doing the Lion’s share of the singing. Jenn has an enigmatic and versitile voice\, which is capable of a wide variety of styles. In addition to The Befuddlers Jenn can be seen around town with her other group\, the Hypnotic Panties. She also has a band with her brother Jeremy\, and father Pete which is called Crosstown. \nLarry Byrne is a multi-instumentalist and singer\, and lays down the rhythm on acoustic guitar with The Befuddlers. Larry sits on the board of AMFM\, a charity organization for musicians based in Annapolis. He can be seen playing with many local groups at AMFM fundraisers. Larry also plays with the local funk group\, Higher Hands\, playing the keyboards and supplying left hand bass. He also loves to join the Hypnotic Panties whenever possible! \nPete Reichwein is the father of Jenn\, and the Dobro player in the group. Pete has been a fixture in the Bluegrass community for decades\, but is also an extremely diverse musician with a good knowledge of many different styles of music.\nNo Cover Charge

DESCRIPTION:Everyone who has heard Kristin Callahan agrees\, her voice is fresh\, vibrant. She’s a vocalist to watch for years to come. From her tender ballads to her flawless execution of even the most challenging pieces\, Callahan exudes charm and elegance. Kristin has been singing since she could speak\, and was fortunate to have her church and school communities recognize her talent and encourage her to develop it over the years. Kristin has remained committed to developing her skill and style\, exploring different genres\, until at last she discovered a love for jazz. In 2009\, she recorded her first jazz album\, which she titled “A New Love” to express her newfound passion for the genre.\nToday\, Kristin is fully focused on her art\, mesmerizing listeners with a contribution to jazz that is entirely her own. She has continued recording and performing with several accomplished musicians\, and released her second album in 2013\, entitled “One Magic Day\,” and had the honor of recording with some of her favorite musicians\, vibraphonist Warren Wolf and bassist Eric Wheeler. Marianne Matheny-Katz of The Baltimore Jazz Alliance said of the album\, “this is a very romantic collection of fourteen songs that speak of deep emotion (especially love) and the magic of everyday experience\, all presented in Callahan’s clear\, soothing voice and straightforward style… Callahan’s voice\, at times\, contains aspects of Jane Monheit’s along with an occasional breathiness reminiscent of Astrud Gilberto\, but she has her own distinct voice and point of view.”\nPerforming throughout the East Coast\, she attracts many of the finest recording\, touring and teaching artists to join her onstage. Kristin is currently working on a new album that continues the theme of exploring love in all its facets\, both the light and the dark sides\, with touches of humor and joy that Kristin has discovered through her own experiences. The album\, entitled “A Burning Kiss\,” marks a different direction from previous albums\, incorporating nontraditional rhythms and world instruments\, while remaining true to her jazz roots.
