DESCRIPTION:Come on down to 49west – Larry and i’ll be singing & playing and hanging out in one of our favorite local places.. there is all kinds of good stuff going there besides this music we’re promoting. amazing artwork\, food and drinks\, people. No cover\, just walk on in\, seat yourself. – we’re in the front room. \nJenn Byrne is the foundation of the group\, playing the upright bass\, and doing the Lion’s share of the singing. Jenn has an enigmatic and versitile voice\, which is capable of a wide variety of styles. In addition to The Befuddlers Jenn can be seen around town with her other group\, the Hypnotic Panties. She also has a band with her brother Jeremy\, and father Pete which is called Crosstown. \nLarry Byrne is a multi-instumentalist and singer\, and lays down the rhythm on acoustic guitar with The Befuddlers. Larry sits on the board of AMFM\, a charity organization for musicians based in Annapolis. He can be seen playing with many local groups at AMFM fundraisers. Larry also plays with the local funk group\, Higher Hands\, playing the keyboards and supplying left hand bass. He also loves to join the Hypnotic Panties whenever possible! \nPete Reichwein is the father of Jenn\, and the Dobro player in the group. Pete has been a fixture in the Bluegrass community for decades\, but is also an extremely diverse musician with a good knowledge of many different styles of music.\nNo Cover Charge

DESCRIPTION:  \nSunday Supper Jazz Series with Susan Mooring & Steve Abshire \nMay 20\, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm \n$20 \nElegant jazz standards\, blues\, and a few surprises are in store from this duo.  Singer/songwriter Susan Mooring lends her smooth contralto to sultry ballads and bossas\, but she can swing\, too.  She is accompanied by renowned guitarist Steve Abshire\, longtime 49 West favorite. \nSusan began her singing career at clubs in and around Boston. She became a fixture of the jazz scene in Portsmouth\, NH\, then in Richmond\, VA\, where she soloed with the Richmond Philharmonic. She currently lives in Silver Spring\, where she performs regularly at Dominic’s Italian Grille.  In the words of Pat White\, host of John Starr’s 49 West Jazz Jam\, “Susan Mooring is one the best singers to ever walk through this door.” \nSteve Abshire has performed with jazz giants from Charlie and Joe Byrd to Louie Bellson and Stanley Turrentine and has accompanied vocalists from Rosemary Clooney to Etta Jones and Joe Williams. The Steve Abshire performs most weekends at the Stanford Grille in Columbia\, MD.
