DESCRIPTION:Annapolis Acoustic Jam: A Round-Robin Jam for songs of every age and genre. All acoustic stringed instruments\, harmonicas\, flutes & whistles are welcome. We do have limits on our sound levels in the back room as we share the venue with live entertainment in the front room. If you want to learn to play in a group this jam is for you. In the past year\, she has been the featured poet at the Evil Grin Poetry reading in Annapolis\, and the Crofton Library poetry series. Laura has worked for the past 25 years in the areas of adult literacy\, homelessness\,  and behavioral health. DESCRIPTION:Come on down to 49west – Larry and i’ll be singing & playing and hanging out in one of our favorite local places.. there is all kinds of good stuff going there besides this music we’re promoting. amazing artwork\, food and drinks\, people. No cover\, just walk on in\, seat yourself. – we’re in the front room. \nJenn Byrne is the foundation of the group\, playing the upright bass\, and doing the Lion’s share of the singing. Jenn has an enigmatic and versitile voice\, which is capable of a wide variety of styles. In addition to The Befuddlers Jenn can be seen around town with her other group\, the Hypnotic Panties. She also has a band with her brother Jeremy\, and father Pete which is called Crosstown. \nLarry Byrne is a multi-instumentalist and singer\, and lays down the rhythm on acoustic guitar with The Befuddlers. Larry sits on the board of AMFM\, a charity organization for musicians based in Annapolis. He can be seen playing with many local groups at AMFM fundraisers. Larry also plays with the local funk group\, Higher Hands\, playing the keyboards and supplying left hand bass. He also loves to join the Hypnotic Panties whenever possible! \nPete Reichwein is the father of Jenn\, and the Dobro player in the group. Pete has been a fixture in the Bluegrass community for decades\, but is also an extremely diverse musician with a good knowledge of many different styles of music.\nNo Cover Charge

DESCRIPTION:“Intimate Jazz” Great American Songbook Series with Sue Matthews & Robert Redd. \nIn this installment of the “Great American Songbook Series”\, Matthews\, along and Robert Redd on piano\, will bring to life the music of composer Harold Arlen whose classic melodies are a major part of The Great American Songbook. \nArlen wrote the music to many of the most memorable songs from the 1930’s to the 1950’s\, including the entire score to the classic movie\, The Wizard of Oz (with lyrics by E.Y. “Yip” Harburg) which included the timeless standard “Over the Rainbow.” Arlen also wrote the music for such benchmark songs such as “Get Happy\,” “Stormy Weather\,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon\,” “Blues in the Night”\, “I’ve Got the World on a String” and “The Man That Got Away”. In addition to Harburg\, he worked with lyricists like Ted Koehler\, Ira Gershwin and Johnny Mercer”
