DESCRIPTION:From Lydia: \nHello everyone. I just wanted to share some updates about Doug’s memorial service on November 2. \nDress will be casual. Please feel free to wear jeans if you are comfortable in them. Doug was definitely not a suit and tie kind of guy. \nI am thinking that little kids will probably be pretty bored — they will have a better time with a favorite babysitter at home. \nThe celebration will be held at two consecutive venues. It would be wonderful if you can attend both\, but do what is right for you. \nFirst\, we will be at Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater\, MD.\nKalas’s is very close to Annapolis. They have ample parking; you only need to walk from the parking lot into the building.\nThe address is 2973 Solomons Island Rd\, Edgewater\, MD 21037; Telephone (410) 956-4488\nThe website can be found at: https://www.kalasfuneralhomes.com\nThe doors will be open for us at 4 pm to start gathering.\nThe service is planned to be about 45 minutes and will begin at 5pm\nGuests will be seated for the service \nSecond\, we will be heading to 49 West Coffeehouse and Winebar and Gallery for some food and more celebration from about 6:30 to about 9.\nThis is where Doug played music for over 20 years\, with Lydia and the rest of the band.\nIt is a special space.\nIt takes about 10 minutes to get there from Kalas.\nThe address is: 49 West St.\, Annapolis\, MD 21401; Telephone: 410-626-9796\nThe website can be found at: https://49westcoffeehouse.com \nParking is kind of typical for a small city — there is metered parking through the Parkmobile app\, I believe (free after 7:30pm) and garage parking\nThere is also residential parking\, but there are time restrictions — make sure you read any signs\nMy recommendation would be to park in Gott’s garage — the walk from their south entrance to the front door of 49 West is .1 mile\nVisit https://www.annapolisparking.com/parking-locations/gotts-court-garage/ for more information \nFood will be light fare\, served cocktail style\nThere will be some seating\, but we will probably move tables out of the way so that there is more room \nWe will have some microphones and a guitar amp or two at 49 West if anyone would like to make a musical tribute. \nIf you are coming in from out of town\, please reach out to me and I can recommend some hotels — Annapolis has many! The Graduate is a 3-minute walk from 49 West (.2 miles)\nUber and Lyft are great for getting around if you rather not drive in town \nI am very grateful to all the people who have reached out to me and to my family and who have shared so many great memories of Doug.
