You thought you knew what you were getting into\, but this is something more\, something different. Its a refreshing pleasant surprise that an artist in today’s single-driven Industry chooses to follow in the tradition of those classic singer-songwriters who came before by creating whole-themed albums. His debut album\, This Way goes far beyond the confines of R&B. It seamlessly melds a variety of genres\, from soul to rock to folk while always remaining honest\, clever\, and conversational. \nLevis’s affinity for singing can be attributed to growing up in the Washington\, D.C. area in a home he remembers being filled with music. My father was a big music head. We grew up listening to all kinds of really good music. Music was bigger than TV. Like many artists\, his musical roots began in church where Levi sang and played the piano. Outside of the church\, young Levi was exposed to artists like Stevie Wonder\, Bill Withers\, Marvin Gaye\, and Donny Hathaway. In addition to those soul legends\, The Beatles\, Paul Simon\, James Taylor\, Jimi Hendrix\, and Prince all made their mark on Levis’s musical style and led him to the guitar which was the final piece needed to create his sound. \nLevis’s ability to incorporate multiple influences into his music can also be attributed to his role as a producer. Levi has written and produced songs on 702s 2003 album Star\, (Places and Certified)\, Raheem Devaughns 2005 album\, The Love Experience (Believe)\,Stones (Angie). Rich Girl (Rich Girl and Do What You Gotta Do)\, Chuck Brown’s 2014 Beautiful Life (Beautiful Life feat. Wale)\, and the Fat Albert Movie Soundtrack (Come on and Join the Gang). \nWith each song he writes\, Levis’s goal is timelessness. I feel like that kind of music will always have staying power no matter what changes around it he says. His songs explore a variety of relevant subjects while including the elements that always stand the test of time; musicianship\, strong lyrics\, and shared experiences. This line of thought is even reflected in the cover songs that Levi chooses to perform. \nABOUT LAURA:\nWebsite: laurabaronmusic.com\nVideos: https://www.youtube.com/@LauraBaronMusic \n“Baron’s vocal performance is a call beyond duty\, ultimately superb..-Warlock Asylum \n “Her voice is evocative and expressive. She breathes life into poignant lyrics…-Band Camp Diaries \n“Jazz-tinged world music\, infectious pop and soulful acoustic performances Laura Baron is a versatile singer/songwriter with a string of awards.” “Breakfast With Buddha” \n 2021 Wammie Nominee \nLaura Baron is an accomplished and talented singer-songwriter\, known for her ability to inspire and entertain her audience. Her unique blend of indie folk\, finger snapping jazz\, and world influences adds depth and richness to her songs\, making her music both engaging and thought-provoking. \nThrough her songwriting\, Laura Baron has a remarkable talent for delving into the heart of the matter. Her captivating voice and compelling lyrics transport the audience to magical places creating a truly immersive and upbeat experience. \nLaura has received awards and recognition for her work\, as she possesses the ability to use music as a medium to awaken emotions\, inspire thought\, and entertain her listeners. \nHer new music video\, Heal Out Loud was created in support of a national effort to stop the stigma people face with mental health and substance abuse issues. \nHer awards include several Wammies as well as four Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Gold Awards. \nConsidered one of the premiere singer-songwriters in the DC area\, Laura’s music moves her audience with powerful stories for our times. From swinging jazz to the sensitive palette of the acoustic artist\, Laura’s voice carries her audience to magic places. \nHer musical evolution has been shaped by her personal experiences. In 2011 her family in Bethesda\, MD adopted a little girl\, Ruchi from an orphanage in New Delhi\, India. \n This emotional journey has strongly influenced her album “Heart Of The Great Unknown.” (Wammies: Contemporary Folk Album\, Artist and Song: A Little Note).
