DESCRIPTION:Last year\, September\, 2015\, Ren Rick\, front woman for Annapolis-based rock band\, Trekkie Jones\, was diagnosed and treated for a brain aneurysm\, and underwent a life-saving craniotomy (open brain surgery). In honor of Brain Aneurysm Awareness\, during the month of September\, Ren & Trekkie Jones have decided to have a concert to celebrate her one year post-craniotomy “annie-versary”; help raise awareness; and instill confidence that with the right treatment\, people can survive such complicated conditions as brain aneurysm and traumatic brain injuries\, and continue to enjoy full lives.\nTrekkie Jones will be joined on stage by the Foolish Immortals\, and a few other special musical guests\, including Kelley Locklear-Jacobs.\nDave Ziebarth\, Ben French and Steve Miller are Foolish Immortals – a blend of classic rock\, bluegrass and beach country. The band features some nice three-part harmonies and some great picking on both guitar and dobro (slide guitar). DESCRIPTION:Ben’s Bones\, a northeast regional band from Annapolis\, Maryland\, has been playing their exciting brand of acoustic rock at many of the area’s best clubs for over 5 years. They’ve opened for bands such as the Gin Blossoms\, Jerry Jeff Walker\, Dick Dale\, The Presidents of the United States of America\, and The Church. Frontman Dan Haas has recorded with members of the Barenaked Ladies and Guster. \nLed by the unique songwriting and vocal abilities of Haas\, the band has received heavy Baltimore/Washington and Philadelphia airplay on fine stations like WHFS\, WRNR\, WXPN\, and DC101. In November and December of 2003\, they had the number one song on XM radio’s Unsigned channel. They’ve performed all over Maryland and DC\, as well as in Virginia\, New York\, Pittsburgh\, Philadelphia\, and Atlanta. In the spring of 2003\, the band sold out the Ram’s Head OnStage in Annapolis\, a high capacity venue that hosts national acts. It was the largest crowd the Ram’s Head had held in over 18 months. Since then the band has performed to sold out crowds at the Ram’s Head OnStage\, the Ram’s Head Live in Baltimore\, and IOTA\, the popular original music venue in Arlington\, VA. \nIn October of 2004\, the band took 1st place in a national contest\, sponsored by Icehouse\, for a performance slot on The Rock Boat. On the boat\, the band played with a large number of acts including Sister Hazel\, Tonic\, Cowboy Mouth\, Pat McGee Band\, Shawn Mullins\, Michael Tolcher\, David Ryan Harris\, Gavin DeGraw\, Virginia Coalition\, Chuck Carrier\, and others. \n“Goodbye Moon” was recorded in the winter of 2002 and was named one of the top ten “do it yourself” albums of the year by Performing Songwriter magazine. The band’s newest studio album is “Wishful Thinking.” Producer Frank Marchand (Jimmie’s Chicken Shack\, Allmighty Senators) encouraged the band to focus on many of their up tempo numbers for “Wishful Thinking\,” and the result is an exciting rock based record. \nThe band’s most recent release is “Live at the Ram’s Head OnStage\,” a live recording of a performance at the venue in Annapolis\, MD. This album documents much of the new material that the band has been playing at recent shows.
