No cover\, just walk on in\, seat yourself. – we’re in the front room. \nJenn Byrne is the foundation of the group\, playing the upright bass\, and doing the Lion’s share of the singing. Jenn has an enigmatic and versitile voice\, which is capable of a wide variety of styles. In addition to The Befuddlers Jenn can be seen around town with her other group\, the Hypnotic Panties. She also has a band with her brother Jeremy\, and father Pete which is called Crosstown. \nLarry Byrne is a multi-instumentalist and singer\, and lays down the rhythm on acoustic guitar with The Befuddlers. Larry sits on the board of AMFM\, a charity organization for musicians based in Annapolis. He can be seen playing with many local groups at AMFM fundraisers. Larry also plays with the local funk group\, Higher Hands\, playing the keyboards and supplying left hand bass. He also loves to join the Hypnotic Panties whenever possible! \nPete Reichwein is the father of Jenn\, and the Dobro player in the group. Pete has been a fixture in the Bluegrass community for decades\, but is also an extremely diverse musician with a good knowledge of many different styles of music.\nNo Cover Charge

DESCRIPTION:Amy Shook – acoustic bass\nPat Shook – tenor saxophone\nFrank Russo – drums\nTim Leahey – trumpet\nJonathan Epley – guitar \nThe Shook/Russo 5tet has been performing together since 2005 in the mid-Atlantic region. Their focus has always been to compose and perform their own original music within the jazz idiom\, honoring the masters by carrying on the tradition. Be it through blues\, swing\, bebop\, soul jazz\, or more modern funk and groove\, the group has developed an incredible and unique sound by merging the diverse backgrounds of each of these fine musicians into one voice. The result is a whirlwind of grooves\, melodies\, and diverse textures that are a true delight to hear. Collectively\, the members of the Shook/Russo 5tet have performed extensively throughout the United States\, as well as performed in Canada\, Mexico\, Asia\, Europe\, and the Caribbean and at festivals such as the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival\, the Ottawa Jazz Festival\, the Stan Getz Jazz Festival\, the East Coast Jazz Festival\, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival\, and the Telluride Jazz Festival\, the Wall Street Jazz Festival and the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival to name a few. They currently have two CDs out on Summit Records\, and will be releasing a new album later this year\, featuring all new music by members of the band. \n

DESCRIPTION:Joe Holt on stride piano and Jeoffrey Gallante on trumpet. \nJoe Holt is a professional pianist\, best known for his imaginative improvisations\, and a joy of performing. Also a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)\, he performs for the connections that music makes\, and a shared experience with his audiences. His studies include\, most notably: Yoheved Kolinsky – classical piano\, and Don Glanden – jazz piano. Joe’s performances reflect the influence of both worlds\, and the joy in the moment. He performs extensively in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. as a soloist\, as well as with established vocalists and jazz groups\, and his own trio. Joe is a featured (walk-on) entertainer for American Cruise Lines\, at ports along the Chesapeake Bay. He has appeared throughout the US in concerts and festivals\, and continues to tour\, on occasion\, as a soloist.
