SUMMARY:Bilgewater Bluegrass
DESCRIPTION:Bilgewater was formed in early 2018 by mandolin player Travis Guthrie and guitarist Russell Jacobsen.  Soon after Victoria Grier(fiddle) and Jimmy Mumper(upright bass) joined. After several jam sessions as a four piece\, it was determined a banjo player was needed and along came Chuck Andreatta.  Bilgewater has been playing shows and the occasional festival set around Annapolis for just under a year.  Their blend of traditional bluegrass\, old time covers and ambitious originals make them a unique act in Annapolis’ music scene.

DESCRIPTION:Justin Lees started playing guitar professionally in the late 70’s and studied guitar with several local prominent guitarists in Washington D.C.\, including Rick Whitehead\, Paul Bollenbach (local to DC at the time)\, Bill Biesecker\, Danny Gatton\, and guitarists not so local (including Herb Ellis and Emily Remler). \nAlthough stylistically diverse\, Justin’s main focus is on a straight ahead approach to jazz steeped in the fifties tradition of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie and rooted in the styles of Charlie Christian and T Bone Walker. The feeling of Swing and the Blues is a constant. While in Washington D.C.\, he worked as a freelance musician with a variety of people that have included Ron Holloway\, Dick Morgan\, Keeter Betts\, Cindy Cain and others. At that time\, you could here him every Monday night with his own trio at the One Step Down\, Washington D.C.’s premier Jazz club\, until it’s closing. He performed at Blues Alley\, 219 Club\, and Constitution Hall plus.

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nCOME JOIN US FOR HAPPY HOUR 5-7PM!! \nBob Israel guitar\nEddie Czerwinski guitar\nColeman O’Donoghue percussion\nDave Marsh bass. \n  \nBob originally made his mark as the founder\, orchestra leader and principal trombonist of the Washington Jazz Battalion\, a 16-piece Big Band\, formed in 1976. The band enjoyed popularity and perform ed overseas\, in NYC\, and throughout most of the east coast. Bob’s Big Band enjoyed great popularity on the East Coast\, playing venues like: Top of the Town; Cellar Door; Blues Alley; Wax Museum; Bethesda Blues and Jazz; Bethesda Cinema Drafthouse; Arties after Dark\, among many corporate\, charity\, and association events. Bob’s skills and the unique sound his Big Band was noted by the Ronald Reagan\, George Bush\, and Bill ClintonAdministrations\, where he was formally invited to perform at their Presidential Inaugurations Balls. As a musician Bob Israel has performed in concert with Nancy Wilson\, Stanley Turrentine\, Harry Connick\, Dizzy Gillespie\, Mary Wilson and Steve Allen. In addition to performing at Inaugural Balls he has performed for many corporate and associate events as an orchestra leader. The Washington Jazz Battalion Big Band was one of Washington’s finest and attracted crowds of over a thousand people a night.
