If it’s for both show\, please specify that as well. \nMusic and spirituality have always been fully intertwined in the artistic vision of trumpeter\, \nbandleader\, composer\, educator and activist Sean Jones. Singing and performing as a child with \nthe church choir in his hometown of Warren\, Ohio\, Sean switched from the drums to the \ntrumpet at the age of 10. \nSean is a musical chameleon and is comfortable in any musical setting no matter what the role \nor the genre. He is equally adept in being a member of an ensemble as he is at being a \nbandleader. Sean turned a 6-month stint with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra into an offer \nfrom Wynton Marsalis for a permanent position as lead trumpeter\, a post he held from 2004 \nuntil 2010. In 2015 Jones was tapped to become a member of the SFJAZZ Collective. During this \ntime\, Sean has managed to keep a core group of talented musicians together under his \nleadership forming the foundation for his groups that have produced and released eight \nrecordings on the Mack Avenue Records\, the latest is his 2017 release Sean Jones: Live from the \nJazz Bistro. \nSean has been prominently featured with a number of artists\, recording and/or performing \nwith many major figures in jazz\, including Illinois Jacquet\, Jimmy Heath\, Frank Foster\, Nancy \nWilson\, Dianne Reeves\, Gerald Wilson and Marcus Miller. Sean was selected by Miller\, Herbie \nHancock and Wayne Shorter for their Tribute to Miles tour in 2011. \nHe has also performed with the Cleveland\, Pittsburgh and Youngstown Symphony Orchestras as \nwell as Soulful Symphony in Baltimore and in a chamber group at the Salt Bay Chamber Festival. \nSean is also an internationally recognized educator. He was recently named the Richard and \nElizabeth Case Chair of Jazz at John Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute in Baltimore. Before \ncoming to Peabody\, Sean served as the Chair of the Brass Department at the Berklee College of \nMusic in Boston.

DESCRIPTION:Led by drummer Steve Fidyk\, The Parlour Project is a new ensemble that trends on performing original improvisational music. Fidyk has earned national and international acclaim as a performer\, author\, and educator. He is a member of The Army Blues Big Band\, the Jazz Studies faculty at Temple University\, Philadelphia\, PA.\, and a contributing columnist for Modern Drummer Magazine. He has performed and recorded with Wayne Bergeron\, John Clayton\, Wycliffe Gordon\, Tim Hagans\, Slide Hampton\, Maureen McGovern\, James Moody\, New York Voices\, Dick Oates\, Arturo Sandoval\, Doc Severinsen\, Terell Stafford\, Tim Warfield\, and Bill Watrous. On tour with Maureen McGovern\, Fidyk has performed with orchestras throughout the country\, including The Cincinnati Pops\, Spokane Symphony\, Nashville Symphony\, Plano Symphony\, The Baltimore Symphony\, The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra\, and the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. His discography as a leader/co-leader includes: Big Kids (U.S. Roots)\, A Perfect Match (Write Groove)\, and Live at Blues Alley (OA2). Fidyk can also be heard on over 100 recordings as a contributing artist.

DESCRIPTION:Friday night\, March 29th\, Bob Israel and Eddie Czerminski\, who are both longtime residents of South County\, return to 49 West playing their special brand of blues and roots music.  \nBob brings musical guests Mark Puryear\, Jay Summerour\, and Coleman O’Donoghue. Mark is a grammy nominated musician and research associate at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage specializing in the history of the blues.  Jay is a nationally recognized harmonica player and Coleman is known for his percussion for the Allman Others Band\, playing throughout the area.  \nIt’s an exciting evening of rousing music played by some of the greatest musicians in the area. The foods we eat can either support our bodies’ ability to heal or impair it. By understanding the basic processes of the body’s physiological response to stresses\, we can better identify which foods are supportive. Inflammation serves an important function in the healing process.  However\, when inflammation becomes chronic as in arthritis\, cardio vascular disease\, irritable bowel syndrome\, high blood pressure\, or asthma\, it can be debilitating. Learn which foods promote inflammation and which foods can reduce or soothe chronic inflammation\, and how you can use your diet to support your health\, longevity and quality of life. \n  \nAbout the Speaker: Kateri Payne received a BA in Humanities from the University of Maryland University College and an MS in Nutrition and Integrative Health with a Clinical concentration from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Kateri has operated her own personal training business franchise Baby Boot Camp of Sierra Vista\, AZ for pre-natal and post-partum mothers\, and has operated her own company Whole Health for Life as a health coach over the last several years. Her passion for health comes from her own struggle with body image and weight as well as continuing to nourish her family through a variety of medical adversity. Currently\, she teaches workshops on healthy eating\, cooking skills\, and healthy lifestyle habits at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Washington\, DC\, and works with clients at her private practice Whole Health for Life in coordination with Maryland Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in Laurel\, MD. \n  \nAnd next month\, on \nThursday\, April 25 at 6:15pm\, Dr. Emil Petruncio will present: Deep Ocean Exploration \nAbout the Presentation: We are in a new age of exploration which involves the mapping and characterization of the seafloor and water column of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone and other high priority areas\, and attaining new knowledge in the areas of climate science\, energy and minerals\, human health\, ocean health\, and marine archeology. Discoveries in these areas will be aided by the convergence of several key technologies: seafloor mapping with multibeam sonar\, exploration with remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles\, and telepresence through fiber optic and satellite links between ship and shore. Examples of these technologies and their applications will be drawn from expeditions of the Exploration Vessel Nautilus\, which is operated by Dr. Robert Ballard and the Ocean Exploration Trust.
