He will also present some topics that are of general interest\, such as shelf-life of foods\, organic vs. conventional food\, seafood safety\, and useful and reliable tools for food safety. And he will answer questions as well! \nAbout the Speaker: Rohan Tikekar is an associate professor and extension specialist in the department of nutrition and food science at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on developing novel food processing technologies to improve food safety and quality. His extension work focuses on providing technical assistance and food safety education to food entrepreneurs. Rohan has published over 70 papers and graduated over 10 MS/PhD students who are now actively contributing in industry\, academia and regulatory agencies.
