Annapolis Science Cafe at 49 West: The Science behind Preserving Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, by John Potvin

About the Talk: The Science behind Preserving Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, by John Potvin, Lighthouse Manager, United States Lighthouse Society

The iconic Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse is 150 years old. It is the last surviving screwpile lighthouse in its original location still being used for navigational purposes. Preserving the lighthouse in a hostile, challenging environment has required scientific solutions and perseverance. Find out how we have saved this lighthouse from extinction.

We hope you will join us in person at the Annapolis Science Café at 49 West, but Zoom is available too. It is best to reserve seats for this event at 49 West by calling 410-626-9796. The event is free but you need to buy something from the restaurant. You do not need a reservation for Zoom, but you do need the meeting number and passcode. Questions? Email annapoliscafesci@gmail.com
