Daisy Castro –

An outstanding interpreter of early European Jazz of the 1930’s and 40’s,

stunning first time audience members, and continuing to enthrall even

those that have seen her perform many times before. Daisy’s dynamic playing channels some of the early greats, while adding

a modern edge to the Jazz Manouche tradition.

Her new project, World On Fire, while still rooted in the same style as her earlier recordings, reaches even further around the

globe for it’s influences.Encompassing everything from Django compositions to Salsa to traditional Turkish music , it opens

up a whole new world of exploration for this fantastic young musician.

The Olivarez Trio –

Based in Charlottesville,Virginia, the Olivarez Trio, Rick Olivarez, Dave Berzonsky and Jeff Cheers, create a vibrant acoustic

repertoire of FrenchGypsy jazz styles mixed with eastern European folklore, waltzes, early jazz improvisations, with a

sampling of everything from Classical and Baroque themes to Beatles melodies. It’s a new roots music that only the Olivarez

Trio can provide.

The combination of these four musicians should make for an exhilarating blend of styles punctuated with some fun

improvisation as enjoyable for audiences to listen to as it will be for them to play.
