Laura Webb is a local poet who is actively involved in the Southern Maryland and Annapolis-based writers’ communities. Since around 2015, she has returned to writing her own poetry after a hiatus of nearly 20 years, sparked when she took the position of volunteer host for the Calvert County Library’s Poets Circle workshop. As an undergraduate, Laura edited Atlantis, the literary magazine of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She took her Master’s degree with Indiana University of Pennsylvania, studying the collaborative learning process among women in the Zoba Rosa Writing Group led by Rosemary Danielle in Savannah, GA. In the past year, she has been the featured poet at the Evil Grin Poetry reading in Annapolis, and the Crofton Library poetry series. Laura has worked for the past 25 years in the areas of adult literacy, homelessness, and behavioral health. She is currently owned by an Irish Wolfhound and an English Mastiff.

PARK FOR FREE in the Anne Arundel County employees’ garage at 19 St. John’s St. (GPS/Mapquest the address)
The garage is OPEN AND FREE on weekends. This garage is about a five-minute walk from the 49 West Coffehouse.
The garage is right across from the St. John’s College auditorium. Turn on to St. John’s St. off of College Ave., OR come straight down Rowe Blvd. from Rt. 50, then turn left at the light at Calvert St., and then left on St. John St. Here’s a link with the St. John’s St. garage’s location and the walking route to 49 West Cafe.
