Led by drummer Steve Fidyk, The Parlour Project is a new ensemble that trends on performing original improvisational music. Fidyk has earned national and international acclaim as a performer, author, and educator. He is a member of The Army Blues Big Band, the Jazz Studies faculty at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA., and a contributing columnist for Modern Drummer Magazine. He has performed and recorded with Wayne Bergeron, John Clayton, Wycliffe Gordon, Tim Hagans, Slide Hampton, Maureen McGovern, James Moody, New York Voices, Dick Oates, Arturo Sandoval, Doc Severinsen, Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, and Bill Watrous. On tour with Maureen McGovern, Fidyk has performed with orchestras throughout the country, including The Cincinnati Pops, Spokane Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Plano Symphony, The Baltimore Symphony, The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. His discography as a leader/co-leader includes: Big Kids (U.S. Roots), A Perfect Match (Write Groove), and Live at Blues Alley (OA2). Fidyk can also be heard on over 100 recordings as a contributing artist.
