Stef Scaggiari, musician, pianist, singer, composer, and arranger is a performer with dazzling versatility, comfortable in both jazz and classical music.
Known nationally and internationally for his work on National Public Radio and
Concord Records, Stef invites you to preview his latest recording “Our Little Place”.
Stef Scaggiari has performed or recorded with the following artists:
Vocalists – Ethel Ennis, Eva Cassidy, Ernestine Anderson, Carol Sloane, Jimmy Witherspoon, Frederica von Stada, Sue Matthews, Erin Dickins, and Tony Spencer.
Musicians – Colin Bailey, Greg Grainger, Frank Russo, Mark Russell, Keter Betts, Dave Wundrow, John Lockwood, Gary Grainger, Steve Abshire, Rick Whitehead, Paul Bollenback, Herb Ellis, Pete Berenbregge.
Steve Abshire has appeared in concert twice with the “Great Guitars”. Once with Herb Ellis and Charlie Byrd, (filling in for Barney Kessel), and once with Bucky Pizzarelli and Frank Vignola.
He performed with various Navy Bands for 24 years, from 1973 to 1997. Steve landed the job of guitarist/featured soloist with the Commodores, the U.S. Navy’s premiere jazz ensemble, for 18 of those years until He retired in 1997. Steve has performed in Europe at the famed “Jazz In Marciac” jazz festival in Marciac, France.
Steve joined the faculty at the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., for five years and he presently teaches guitar privately. As a clinician, Steve has given Master Classes in guitar and rhythm section technique at the Armed Forces School of Music, James Madison University, Elon University, and various other local colleges and high schools.
